Description
The Trung Nguyen phin filter consists of a round perforated plate, that fits over a coffee mug or cup; a brewing chamber, that sits on top of the plate; a perforated insert that fits inside the chamber, to tamp the grounds down; and a cap to keep the heat in.
How to use the phin filter:
- Put 2-3 tablespoons of ground coffee into the filter and gently push the filter press inside.
- Place the filter on the cup and pour a small amount of hot water in (96-100C) to moisten the coffee.
- Wait about 20 seconds.
- Fill the filter chamber with hot water and cover with the lid.
- Over the next 5 minutes the water should drizzle through the strainer.
- Remove the lid from the cup.
According to your personal preference, add condensed milk or sugar. Vietnamese coffee can be served hot or add ice if you want to serve as iced coffee.
